Henry was our server during our first visit to Saltgrass. He made our experience dining in enjoyable and remembered every detail of our orders. Just when we thought he forgot our coffee, he came back explaining he had to make 3 pots to get it right. We appreciate his efforts and his level of care for our party of 6. It is refreshing to encounter a server who truly cares about providing a pleasant dining experience.
The green beans are devine. Fresh, crispy, and flavorful
Potatoes, nice and beefy and crispy
Shrimp fried to perfection with a nice crust, not overdone
Sauce are made from scratch, including the cocktail sauce and ranch -delicious
Ribs had a weird after taste (I think it was the BBQ sauce)

My wife and I ate at the Riverwalk location in San Antonio. The food was average but the service was below par. Waited a long time on our cocktails, entrees were brought before our salads and steak was not cooked as I had ordered.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, it wasn't very crowded for a July Friday night so there was no excuse for our experience. -

The family wanted steak. Therefore, we went to Saltgrass Steak House. we saw it the other night when we were at the Original Mexican Restaurant & Bar.
Everyone knows that I'm not a steak person. I'm not a beef person, overall. As long as they have chicken, I'm good.
We got there and was seated right away. Service is quick and attentive.
Everyone ordered steak but me haha. I got some chicken dish. All comes with salad or soup and two sides. We also ordered appetizers.
Food was good overall. The family absolutely loved the steak. The chicken is good but I've had better elsewhere but still great!

Very disappointed with dinner here this evening. It seems like the entire meal was pre-cooked. my steak was not hot my baked potato was not hot everything was served tepid except for the mushrooms which were good. Wait staff was very good with the exception that the tables are tight.

4 stars is for the food. The food was so good here! Came in on a Sunday evening and had to wait about 20 minutes for a party of 6. For dinner I had the crab cakes and smothered steak with mashed potatoes. The crab cakes were divine! I am still thinking about those crab cakes! My steak was cooked perfectly and was deliciously seasoned. The only gripe we had was that the restaurant ran out of mashed potatoes and no one said anything to us until after they had substituted French fries for all of our sides. We heard different stories from different people and it kind of left us annoyed about how the situation was initially handled but our server and the manager did eventually come out and apologize about the situation so we appreciated that. Overall I enjoyed the food and the prices were fair so I would go back.
